We made it to Israel about a week ago, a few days after Thanksgiving; however we haven’t been able to blog until now. But it is BEAUTIFUL here. Actually words can’t express how wonderful it is. This blog will be fairly short and our internet access will be far and few between until Africa, and even then we may not be able to blog much. But hopefully sometime in January there will be a decent post.

In the few short days that we have been here I have learned so much! We visited Jerusalem and went to Mt. Zion, the Garden Tomb, the church of the Holy Supluchar (spelling?), we went to the Old city walls and saw the Herodian tombs that were actually there during Jesus’ day, we went to the wailing wall, the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, we walked through the Old City…it was a long day. But I am still in the state of processing the fact that I walked where Jesus walked. Oh. And the fact that I’m in Israel. It’s pretty surreal. I know in the past blogs I believe I said Turkey was my favorite country….and while I still love it, Israel is AMAZING! So hopefully everyone reading this will at some point get a chance to come.

Today was a beautiful day. We watched kids today for a mom who needed SO much help. She’s a single mom with 5 children and one of whom has a severe disability and it was so encouraging to be able to do that for her. It was kind of spontaneous and we were more than willing to help her and she has encouraged us probably more than we have helped her.

I ask just for continued pryers for us and Israel. Oh and to listen to as much Christmas music as you can. And watch Christmas movies, and eat Christmas food and enjoy all the lights and festivities. Martha and I definitely went looking for Christmas decorations today and found ONE light up santa hat for like $4, and 2 feet of tinsel for $4. So yes. Happy holidays and enjoy it all!

I love and miss you all SO much. Thank you for reading!
