Africa,

Thank you so much for being Africa.

I love you..

We arrived into Nairboi, Kenya about 9 days ago and I AM IN LOVE WITH IT. (of course I’m in love with every country we visit) But this is something that cannot be written down. It is something you have to feel for yourself…its indescribable. OH wow. I am so. so. SO. excited to FINALLY be in Africa.  I love it so much. We just found out that we will be working in a town called Bungoma, Kenya. And yes it is the World Race and we found at when we arrived in Kenya that our ministries in Uganda had fallen through and now we will be working in Kenya. And really just give me Africa. I’ll go anywhere. I am not sure what we will be doing but I know the Lord is moving and I cannot wait to update you all.

We are working in a town called Bungoma, Kenya and hopefully I will have more time later to give more details. But we’re working with a church here and the past couple of days we have been painting a school (kids return next week) and attending their church services…which are BEAUTIFUL and quite often. And every Tuesday and Friday they do all night praise and worship! (well until 6 am)!  So incredible.

These past couple of months have been difficult, just being in closed countries and predominantly Muslim, and last month not having internet and it being Christmas…so I almost feel as if its a new era, or the start of a new race per se. These past months have been really internal and since a couple of the months we haven’t had “ministry” with a contact so it has been difficult to find ministry.  So much of it has been personal growth and just learning and soaking in Christ…it has been good and needed but I feel ready to be here. To be in Africa. To be dirty.  To love with a love that is not my own. To trust in Him to be my strength, my food, my EVERYTHING. To trust in Him that we won’t be sick (becuase He is SO much bigger than the little thing I like to call malaria and parasites).  And really regardless of what happens on the race, I know I am where God has called me and it is amazing to be there. To know that God has called me to this. So whatever happens…God IS in control.  Oh its such a BEAUTIFUL realization and trust. How I love Him!

Thank you for your prayers!!  They have helped a lot, especially this past month and with sickness and travel days…we have been extremely blessed.  We spent about 3 full days of travel and we all arrived in Nairobi with our back packs AND our day packs. The Lord blessed us with a chance to see the pyramids on our way into Nairobi and it was so wonderful!! it was so much fun to see Egypt and be with our whole squad and praise Jesus in the middle of the Cairo airport.

ps. Hopefully pictures will be coming soon.  I LOVE YOU ALL!
