So far, I have probably spent many hours reading everyone’s blogs. and I am ridiculously excited about everyone going. It is sort of surreal. God just gave me a little glimpse of my family for the next year…which is crazy to think about. and super exciting.
Anyway…about me. My name is Ashley. I am 23, from Huntsville, Alabama…born and raised. I love Jesus with everything that I am. I fail…everyday…and He loves me more than I will ever know.
I am so blessed to have an AMAZING family. All of them, immediate family, extended, all…its really quite lovely. And I am blessed to have amazing friends that I would consider family. My parents have been married for 31 years and I have a sister, Rachel, and she is my absolute best friend. That’s them to the right over there >… 🙂
I have watched my church, Summit Crossing Community Church, grow from non-existent to what it is today and I love it. (it is now like 6 years old I believe) My previous small group probably, well definitely, had a lot to do with where I am at today. I don’t really know what to say about myself…I graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in Foreign Language International Trade in Dec 2007 which is just a really fancy (and expensive) way to say that I have absolutely no idea what to do with my life. But I know that God has lead me to where I’m at today and allowed me this opportunity to love Him. To follow Him. To grow in Him. To be loved by Him. To know Him. To share Him. To delight in Him. To be honest with Him. To desire Him. And I am SO thankful that God opened this door for all of us. and I’m thankful that I get to be a part of it.
Other random things …
- most of the things I want to do in life do not seem to have an income associated with them…
- I really enjoy that the bible is alive. And sometimes…I really like to read it as I would a story (even though i know its much more than that…), like Narnia…and then I get excited because Heaven really does exist. And Jesus is better than Aslan. However I do believe that a sort of Narnia really does exist. And I would much like to visit it.
- My favorite author by far, through and through, is CS Lewis.
- I think LOST is an absolutely brilliant TV show. Period.
- I don’t take showers everyday.
- I love water. I love the sound of it. I love any sort of body of water. I love rain. Pretty much anything associated with water makes me happy. It is one of my most favorite gifts from God.
- I will never love Jesus enough.
- I really really REALLY like music.
- i like shoes.
- i want to love people. Everyday. With Jesus kind of love.
- i am VERY indecisive.
- i have this overzealous desire to visit every country in the world at least once….
