Hey Everyone!
I Just wanted to give you an update on what I’ve been up to the past few weeks. After we finished ministry in Tanzania we took a 14 hour bus ride to Nairobi, Kenya. While we were in Kenya we had a squad debrief which consisted of worship, sessions, talking about our previous team and finding out our new team.(We also were blessed with the opportunity to spend some time with our contacts from Kenya, our first month in Africa.)
Team changes were really hard for me. More than I expected. The first time we had team changes it was hard but I knew it was needed. I immediately had a peace about my new team and instantly loved them although I didn’t know them very well. So, I figured that next time we had team changes it wouldn’t be a big deal because I know God’s plans are WAY better than mine. But that wasn’t the issue. I didn’t doubt that God’s plans were good, I didn’t doubt His faithfulness. Sometimes I like to think that I know what’s better in a situation. Part of it was the fact that I loved my team so much I didn’t want to be without them. The other part of it was I felt like we worked so well together and I felt like I had so much to learn from them still. When I found out that three of them were on one team together and the other three were on a team together I was pretty upset. I was being really selfish and wondering why me? Now as you are reading this you probably think I was crying because I didn’t like my new team… nope. I think my new team is ridiculously amazing. The Lord has blessed me by putting Andrea on my team again, in fact she is my leader. The rest of my team is wonderful as well!
So in Nairobi I had a wonderful chat with two of my former team mates and they spoke a lot of life and encouraging words into the situation. As they were talking I mentioned that earlier that day I had written down some things that I felt like the Lord was saying to me. I let them read it and they said that is exactly what they had just told me! Incredible! I love how my Daddy does that 🙂
All that said, I am now in Thailand! We arrived on December 4th in Bangkok where we spent a couple days together as a squad having a few meetings, learning about the culture and getting to explore the city! On Tuesday we arrived in Pattaya which is a big city on the southern coast. We haven’t started ministry yet we’ve just spent the past couple days getting to know our contacts and the city. We start tomorrow and I’m super excited! This month we will be doing all kinds of ministry.
I will write another update soon and fill you in on all of our ministry opportunities but on the schedule for tomorrow is morning devotions, learning a Christmas song in Thai, doing street evangelism and going to an orphanage!
I’m sorry it has taken me so long to blog and I hope this is a good enough update for right now. Thank you all for your constant support. Love you all.
