So, even though we’ve been in Africa for a month already we got kind of a shock when we arrived in our ministry spot. A squatty pottie without a door, a shower hut without a door, a hamock in our mud huts to sleep in…. the biggest shock of all was that they think that mzungus are dirty! They shower 2 to 3 times a day and expect us to do the same! Who would have thought?! I haven’t been doing a good job at following the rules since today is the first time I’ve showered since we got here.. it’s kind of a pain when you’re doing it out of a bucket!
None-the-less, I am very excited because yesterday we got hamocks in our mud huts…I’m still dealing with the pottie situation haha! I’m sharing a hut with Alissa and Steph and yesterday we decorated it and now it feels like home 🙂 We put up welcome signs on our door and bible verses on our walls and even a picture of a flower pot on our little window!
