Breathe deeply. Drink in the scenery. Marvel at God’s creation.

During the week one of our outings was to a gorgeous place called Glendelough. Ruins are surrounded by crumbling grave stones, lush green trees, and a quiet river. When we went with the families we paddled in the river, played in a feild and explored the cemetary. We had a chance to go back again after we did the final cleaning at camp on Tuesday. This time we went up to the lake and hiked up to a waterfall, the ruins of a church and St. Kevins cell.

Situated in the mountains is a small decaying church that was shut down in the 1400’s. Walking into the grounds the first word that immediately comes to mind is peace. It’s like a secret holy ground that was ones used to worship a mighty king.

I would love to go back to Glendelough one day. An entire week is almost needed to explore and discover this amazing park. I would love to take my bible and journal, go up to the church and just spend the early morning there resting in God’s presence.
