Our month in El Salvador absolutely flew by…I feel like I just blinked, and now it’s February! With that being said, we got to spend our month with Lauren as our team leader. I got to spend the least amount of time with Lauren at training camp, but with the time that I did get to spend with her I could tell that she was going to be an awesome leader to have for our first month!

She leads by example. She is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. She has so much joy that is always overflowing towards others, and it just makes me joyful being around her. She wears her heart on her sleeve, which is one of the most courageous things I think a person can do. She loves without holding back.

Lauren is just a super awesome example for other to look to.

So, our last night in El Salvador was Saturday night.. After a really great team time, Lauren asks us to wait because she wants to do something for us before we go to bed. She proceeded to tell us that she wanted to wash our feet to send us off to the nations for the coming months.

When she said it, we were speechless. We definitely weren’t expecting her to say that. Why would our leader want to take the time to wash our feet?

Her action of humility and love spoke volumes! It was such a sweet moment, and gave me that much more of a glimpse into the daughter of God she is.

Team Relentless loves you, Lauren!! I thank God for putting you in our lives and for being such a light and example for us.

Pray for Lauren as she continues to squad/team lead through this next couple of months. I’m not sure if we’ll have her for another month, or not, but please pray for her as she continues her journey of leading others!

With love,
Ash
