Ok, so yesterday was our official ‘halfway day’, and Las Libertadoras decided to have a time of celebration and reminiscing over the past 5 1/2 months!! We celebrated with cheesecake and a donut, and sharing our favorite moments and stories. SO, I just thought I’d share some of my favorite/memorable moments with you!! 🙂 I have quite a few, so I’m going to do short highlights. 1.) Meeting my sweet boy, George…
2.) Flying over the mountains of the country that has held such a huge piece of my heart for the past 3 years!! -Colombia
3.) Spending the night on the beach playing games with the youth from church… -Colombia
4.) The worship service that Sunday morning (6/14)… First time that I have ever experienced the Lord’s presence so strongly that everyone else disappeared, I forgot about trying to understand the lyrics, and it was just me and God.
5.) Teaching English to Thomas, and learning some words from his original language in return. -Panama
6.) The night our team time was spent out in the middle of the field under the most beautiful night sky I’d ever seen. -Nicaragua
7.) Sushi dates.. -Costa Rica (debrief)
8.) Spending time with a family from an indigenous tribe. -Panama
9.) Ryan’s baptism. -Costa Rica (debrief)
10.) The time Patrick declared my race as not being my main journey, but simply training wheels for all of the amazing mission things I will do throughout my life. -Panama
11.) The time I declared boldness over my life, in front of my squad. -Guatemala
12.) The time God spoke to me through orange roses, my favorite flower! -Guatemala
13.) The time I saw an NC license plate in a typical restaurant.. -Guatemala
14.) The revelation I had about the relationship between Jesus and John the Baptist. -Panama
15.) The time we began praying for the orphanage to become official (on day 1) before we left, and it became official the afternoon of our last day. -Panama
16.) All-squad weekends, or debriefs… -Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama
17.) Living beside a volcano for a month. -Nicaragua
18.) My letter from God. -Panama
19.) The day we went to the trash dump. -Nicaragua
20.) The night we flew into San Andres. -Colombia
21.) Being told I looked like people’s nieces or daughters. -Panama
22.) Our last night in the village. -Nicaragua
23.) Not being able to recognize the girl who left in January. -Panama
24.) Having ‘missionary’, ‘evangelism’, ‘crown of life’, and ‘exhortation’ spoken over me. -Panama
25.) The photo shoot. – Nicaragua
26.) Being the first outsiders allowed into a village (in the past few years). -Guatemala
27.) Favorite beach sunsets. -El Salvador
28.) Coffee. -Guatemala, Colombia (enough said)
29.) Getting to make chicken parmesan as our final dinner. -Panama
30.) Getting to ride around in the back of a truck. -Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama
So many memories (not in any particular order)…SO many blessings…these are just a few
