Jesus is KING.
I figure that starting out by letting you know the main thing my life is shaped around might be the biggest glimpse into who I actually am.
And not only is He KING, he is EVERYTHING.
"For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen."
-Romans 11:36
My name is Ashley and I am a 22 year-old Jesus Freak.
I grew up in Mobile. Alabama. M y family is Chrsit-centered and beautifully supportive. My parents and my 19 year old brother encourage and build me up regularly.
I am now finishing up my senior year at Auburn University. (THANK GOODNESS). My degree will be in Social Work and I will finally get that piece of paper saying that I completed school in December right before I leave to go on the Race. School hasn't exactly been my favorite of things. There have been days and weeks and months when dropping out and leaving have loomed over my head, but learning about obedience and the sovereign work of the Lord has been invaluable.
I am a sinner. I've made mistakes in the past, but cling to the cross. I was completely
broken and He carefully puts me together the way He wants me to be. My chains are broken and I am no longer bound to this world. Thank You JESUS for your grace and love and mercy!
My heart has been pointed in the direction of missions for a few years now. I have had the amazing opportunity to spend two summers in Tanzania, where my heart still lives. The Lord has given me a desire to provide justice, to love people that don't know love, and to be international. He is good.
I am beyond thrilled to embark on this crazy journey called the World Race and my prayer now is that the Lord go before me and prepare the way for His name to be made famous!
"Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told."
-Habakkuk 1:5
Here are some trivial things about me you may want to know about me too:
-Hammocking makes life better.
-I tell horribly corny jokes.
-I read before bed every night (Bonhoeffer leads to exciting dreams).
-I sing…a lot…even when it's not an appropriate singing time…oops.
-Chacos. My dressy and casual shoes.
-I don't like apple juice.
