Hey everyone!!
So I am staying at a place called Casa Shalom in Bucharest, Romania. We are living in luxury here for sure. We have beds and good food and HOT SHOWERS 🙂 It is incredibly hot here though so its hard to be energetic and sleep at night. There are three O Squad teams staying here this month which is totally awesome because I have gotten to know some of the people from the other teams. There are some other card lovers which is great because I’ve been able to get my game fix. HOWEVER, they link cards with gambling so we have to hide in our rooms to play. For ministry, we are working at a place called Jubilee which is home to several 20 somethings women. These women were all orphans but got kicked out to the streets in Bucharest when they turned 18. They have either a physical or mental disability that has made getting a job very difficult. Most were abused on the streets so this place has taken them in and tries to be a transition place for them. We go there and just hang out with the women, play UNO, they love to braid hair, color, and other random games. Today I brought a football 🙂 On the days we don’t go to Jubilee we stay at Casa Shalom and play with the kiddos. This past weekend we had a church group of kids here for a short summer camp and now we are getting a group of kids from a Gypsy village. We went into the village yesterday and played with them. We played soccer on a gravel/pavement surface that had a lot of glass shattered on it. The whole side area was all glass and shattered clay pots. Great mix with the flip flops. The kids clung to us right away, they are pretty cute.
