I’ve been living in Uganda for the month in a mud hut and sleeping in a hammock. I’ve loved every minute of it. I have some crazy stories about living in a mud hut, including accidentally going to the bathroom on a fire ant hill at 2:45am and getting destroyed by them. Yes, I literally had ants in my pants at 2:45am. Fire ants. They hurt real bad. So then I continued to pray for a half hour that they were just fire ants and not a demon satan juice spraying beetles…sorry Logan. I live with 2 other girls in my hut, and lots of lizards, a frog, tunnel building and door breaking termites, and huge red eye moths and lots of other fun big bugs.

This is where I’ve been all month. The website does a great job of explaining everything and its very brief….aka go read it papapapleaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssseeeeeeeeeee.
I’ve learned how to roll beads and love screaming children with no pants on. They are so precious and I’m not ready to leave.
The girls that are here have absolutely amazing stories. I can’t imagine living through what they’ve lived through. This month has been one of my favorites ministry wise, again I’m not ready to leave. But homesickness wise it has been the hardest month for me. Not because I live in the bush and miss the luxuries of home…I miss my family and friends. I miss familiar voices. I miss encouragement from the people that know me best. I miss them telling me how it is. I miss my Badger sporting events….way to go boys!!!
Mom I miss playing cards with you and eating ben and jerrys in bed. I can’t wait to do that in 7 months.
I got to check internet for the first time in a while. I cried. Thank you everyone for the sweet messages. It was just what I needed to get me out of my crappy mood and keep pressing on in Africa.
I get to go on a safari this weekend and then its off to another country next week….Tanzania!!
Tony and Lisa- I didn’t forget about 10-10-2010. How did everything go? You all are still in my prayers. Tell everyone I say hi and I miss them 🙂 Also tell them that if they are not making every Monday matter- I will kick their butts when I get back 🙂
