Greetings from Nepal! Sorry for the delay in communication, it has been a crazy two weeks! I will try to give you a brief recap and get into what is going on currently.

We got back to Dar with sad news that Tara and Kathleen were going back to America. Tara has been one of the most amazing friends I have had on the race so I was pretty upset. Her flight was scheduled to head out 2am the day after our teams were heading to Zanzibar. So I ended up staying back with Rhema to have one last day with Tara. It was a fun day, sad to see her leave, but thankful for the way God is using her.

We headed to Zanzibar the next morning. After a few hours of sleep, a ferry ride, hour taxi ride, all we could do after we checked into our hotel room was run down to the beach and jump in. It was BEAUTIFUL. We celebrated Leyna and Clint’s birthdays, ate good food, partook in Jasmin and Bridget’s baptisms and soaked in the sun. Much needed relaxation and regrouping after a LONG three months in Africa.

The morning of check out we were surprised with a “squad shuffle” aka NEW TEAMS! This was a surprise, but something that I know God had been preparing my heart for. So with that I will introduce you to my new team…

Team Zahar!

Clint is our leader, along with Ryan, Curt and my girl Bridget. We have already had so much fun together, and I know we have amazing things coming our way for God’s Glory!

The word Zahar is Hebrew. It means to shine, to teach, to be taught, to be light. It’s funny because after we got our new teams God kept speaking light to me. Then Clint got some verses about shining God’s light, and the words shine and light were coming up everywhere. Even a friend from Q Squad sent me an email and part of it talked about being a light bearer for Christ. So a few days with nothing really fitting, Clint again researched some Hebrew and when he said Zahar we all (finally) agreed!

To wrap up details of the month we are staying with an Indian family who work for GEMS. We thought we were going to be digging fish ponds all month for the fish farm they use to raise money for children, but it’s not the right season. We have been teaching VBS (I currently have 20+ under 5 year olds who do not speak more than two words of English) doing odd jobs, painting, gardening and things like that. I have made it through two insanity workout sessions with hopes of working off all the carbs we eat. Mid morning coke runs and walking through rice fields are near daily occurrences along with all 5 of us cramming on two air mattresses to watch arrested development after dinner.

Prayer requests: Pray for the children here that we are working with that they will come to see, know and accept the love of Jesus, language barriers. Pray against frustration. Also we fast every Friday mornings for our families so I welcome you in joining us in that.

Ok, information overload is dunzo. I love you all, we have wicked limited internet. We head back to Kathmandu the 19th so I will have internet for a few days there, we fly out to Hydrobad India the 22nd for our big 8 month debrief, so hope to skype with you all in a few weeks or so. Love you guys! Thanks for all our support!
