Hello to all
I feel like all the blogs I have are updates but things are crazy and internet is scarce. We got a modem so I should have better internet this month.
Leaving Nepal and flying into India I got wicked sick, as in both flights I spent my time in the bathroom (all 2 square feet of them) puking my brains out. Not sure what was even wrong but I was so weak I couldn’t even walk at the airport at our layover and had to be pushed around in a wheel chair, which was mortifying and humbling at the same time. Someone I know found it hilarious and got some footage. Poor Carly was sick too, so at least we had each other. Needless to say, I never want to eat Pad Thai again or get onto a plane with the slightest hint of nausea.
Debrief in Hydrobad was good. We stayed in a Convent and the main Nun’s name was (no joke) Sister Vajay. The ladies did not find us funny or quiet so it was rough come 10 pm. Easter was good, we had a sunrise service and went out to lunch at Hard Rock for Ryan’s birthday. We had some good nights of worship, spent time with our amazing coaches and old squad leaders, ate American fast food and the guys did an amazing thing for us after our squad dinner.
We got picked up by our amazing contact Pastor Sam, who is like the fun uncle who spoils you. We arrive and he shows Bridget and I our room, which include our own beds, our own bathroom (squattie with a door) and most amazingly SHELVES. I mean I have 12 shelves behind my bed… glory. SO it gets better, then he shows us another room that has a REFRIDGERATOR in it, yes a fridge JUST FOR US. Did I mention India is a million degrees? We are almost in tears. Last night he opened up another room where we are staying that has a TV… He serves us ice cream with dinner and takes us all around in an SUV. We are SPOILED.
Ministry is again where he is spoiling us. The first morning we wake up and he said we were going to a wedding, and that we would be going to several weddings this month. (I have been praying since the Philippines that could go to an Indian Wedding… I think its God showing off…) We have also gone to baby naming, and house dedication ceremonies. Pastor wants us to experience a bunch of things and his goal is to share the gospel everywhere we go, so we sing songs and take turns sharing. Another prayer I have had for the past few months is kids to play with, like my babies in Rwanda. Well the first night we got lost walking to Pastor’s house and we bumped into a bunch of kids who have come to play ever since. How good is God?
So we have three more weeks here they we fly up to Dehli, and take a train down to Agra to see the Tajj, then fly out of Dehli into Romania on the 26th(?) The race is going by so fast! I will try to post more blogs this month. Keep us in your prayers, you all are in ours.
