If you knew the amount of lice that was in the orphanage we stayed
at, and how many kids we still held, cuddled and kissed without ever getting
one bug on our heads…

If you knew how we get around daily by local transportation…

If you what knew what the little boys who I kissed goodnight
Monday thru Friday at the night shelter endured from day to day and still could
smile back when I said “I love you”…

you knew the lack of resources and materials I had to teach
twenty-somethings English for Mid Wife School and yet they still made progress…

If you knew that I carried around an illegal book in my purse for
a month and faced potential trouble with the Muslim law, but made it out safe
and sound, even after telling people about Jesus…

If you knew how many rats run around my head in the ceiling and
chew holes in the wall yet have not shown their faces to us yet…

If you knew the number of drunk men who I have bumped into as they
were hand and hand with a woman they bought for the night while being able to
keep my tongue bit and fists down…

If you knew the scripture and analogies that were spoken out of my
mouth to a room full of teenagers who has questions about God existing…

If you knew the conditions that our food was prepared in for the
past 6 months without one case of food poisoning on my team…

If you knew how many times I have lost my passport at the airport
and have still been on time to every location…

If you knew the smiles I have seen from the babies I have held
that were infected with HIV and AIDS…

If you knew hunger for God I have seen in children with bottles of
glue up their noses when I ask them “How are you?”…

If you knew about the healing, the strengthening, the redemption,
the forgiveness, the favor and the love I have received since I left America…

If you knew how much my life has changed in the past six months…

…You would know
about God’s grace; and that is sufficient in all things.

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. – Ephesians 4:17
