100 days, 100 things
So we have just hit the 100 day mark and I thought I would share with you 100 things I have done so far. Everything from exciting, sad, funny, weird, boring and life changing. Enjoy! (The teacher in me had to make this a big deal!)
1. Ate worms
2. Ate fried bugs
3. Ate rice
4. Crammed with 11 other people in a jeep to town
5. Drove a motorcycle
6. Jumped off waterfalls
7. Swam through caves with head lamps
8. Rode in the back of a trailer standing up in the pouring rain
9. Prayed with prisoners at their jail
10. Laid hands on a stranger at the hospital who just lost her baby to pray
11. Dispensed medicine at a mid wife clinic
13. Slept on the floor with Joni as we cared for 2 of the babies at the orphanage for the night shift
14. Ate a whole fish without gagging
15. Played one game of Uno for hours
16. Saw the boys I kissed goodnight to begging on the street the next morning
17. Learned Khmer dancing
18. Witnesses one of my students accepting Christ at church
19. Taught English to Mid Wife students
20. Saw a sunrise at one of the wonders of the world
21. Got a massage from fish eating my feet
22. Learned, and accepted that God loves me because He loves me
23. Partook in the transformation from a team to a family
24. Woke up to Muslim Mosque chants
25. Drank Tea and hung out with Jesus sunrise after sunrise
26. Watched God multiply food
27. Spirit moving through Art for Isaiah 61 (Joni, Carm and Shannon! Xoxo)
28. Hung out with a 2 year old in matching Arkansas Razorback pjs (Love you Elise and EJ!)
29. Cooked meals… and they tasted pretty good!
30. Living off meals for less than $1
31. Haggled with people at the markets and taxi rides
32. Walked around little India in hunts for Chai Masala
33. Drank drinks out of a bag
34. Ate with my hands
35. Peeded on a squatty potty
36. Hung out with gangsters
37. Sold heart boxes for charity in hospital waiting rooms
38. Slept on the floor of churches
39. Come to terms that cold showers are normal
40. Dried my hair in fans
41. Bribing people to borrow their straighter
42. Swimming in full clothing, even at beaches
44. Posing for pictures because you are white
45. Having people touch your skin because it’s white
46. Dying my hair black
47. Paying $2 to get it washed a straighten, a small price to pay for a dose of sanity
48. Cut my hair
49. Being called Asian because you hair is black
50. Complaining that a shirt costs $4
51. Complaining when anything costs $4
52. Feeling like the birthday girl when you shave your legs
53. Marked PB&J as my favorite meal
54. Buying jars of peanut butter and eating it by the spoon
55. Spent the night on an airport floor in Singapore
56. Got pink eye
57. Shared pink eye with my 5 team mates
58. Showered on top of toilet
59. Had praise and worship to Usher (Jesus is my boo)
60. Fasted from coffee for Malaysia
61. Ate meat off the bone in soup with a spoon
62. Debated fasting just so you would not have to eat that soup… every night
63. Painted a mural at a homeless shelter
65. Threw back some Tim Tam Slams
66. Come to the conclusion that it’s better to not know what you are eating
67. Watched Leyna get attacked by a slumdog
68. Stuffed and sewed stuffed animals
69. Ate chips and salsa from Chillis more times in Malaysia than back home all my life
70. Photo shoot off with an old creepy man in the bus
71. Hunted down wifi like it was the last mission on earth
72. God is good
73. I am so unworthy
76. Signed Jesus Christ in the guestbook at the “Big Buddha” temple
77. Had my hair styled with water bottles
78. Spoke to my Church from the other side of the world
79. Watched Matthew puke up balut
80. Sang karaoke on a bus
81. Sang karaoke in a hut
83. Had a private dinner a movie on the river front
84. Sang the toddlers to sleep
85. Changed diapers with cotton balls when there was no wipes
86. 1 hour car ride with a 2 year old on my lap who peed on me ten minutes into the ride
87. Watched Matthew walk on water
88. Gave my testimony at a Church in the Philippines
89. They make spaghetti sauce with more sugar than tomatoes
90. Climbed a tree
91. Busted out dance parties in the mall at midnight
92. Busted out on the runway with Jeannie Moore!
93. Praised Jesus for Oatmeal and instant coffee every morning
94. Cried at the fact it was still oatmeal and instant coffee two months later
95. Had repeated Skype conversations only consisting of the words “no I can’t hear you can you hear me?”
97. Sat with prostitutes at the bar and told them they were beautiful and there is hope
98. Laughed till I cried
99. Cried till I laughed
100. Decided that living my life for Christ is the most difficult, heart breaking, and rewarding thing I will ever do, and nothing will change my mind about it. Nothing.
