Greetings from Uganda!

Apart from some not so nice taxi drivers, our stay her has been very nice! Uganda has welcomed us with open arms. This month we are teaching at a Primary school, and leading seminars on Sunday in churches. I get the honor to teach 4th and 6th grade English, along with Physical Education  to 1st and 2nd graders!

Last Sunday we went up to the front to introduce ourselves to the church, and I was able to say that I was 21 at the time, but the next day was my birthday. Then a wonderful Happy Birthday chorus broke out with adorable little kids singing along! It was such a great gift, but that was not the end of my wonderful birthday. I was able to go into the Capital City of Kampala where we shopped for candy, went to a movie, and ate at a very nice restaurant for dinner with my amazing team!

After being on this race for almost 9 months now, I am so grateful for good friends and good food. Those were my only requirements for my birthday, too. Those things are hard to come by, but when you find those treasures…you gotta hold onto them.
