Psalm 130
Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
Wait….wait for what the Lord has planned for me….wait for Him. Waiting is not easy for me and is not a word that I enjoy to hear. I am impatient and just want to go. To now be confronted with God telling me to wait stops me fully in my tracks and I’m stuck. I don’t know where to go or what to do, so I just stand there and impatiently wait. My mind is miles ahead, but I’m far behind. I can’t move. I am not open to what God is telling me because my head is further away thinking of what I need to be doing, rather than just resting and waiting in the Lord. Yet, I am on a trip where I need to wait and rest in the Lord.
This week in ministry we’re doing daily devotionals on faithfulness. When my day came up to share I researched faithfulness….
and in his word I put my hope.
