My first name is Greta, I’ve gone by Ashley since birth. (except when I changed schools for a stint in grades 3-5, I decided it was weird to have friends that knew me by different names.)

Greta is my grandma’s name. My mom never intended to call me Greta, she just wanted my initials to spell something. She’s got her GAL. True story. Love you Madre’. 🙂

I grew up in a small town in rural PA, Linesville. There is one stop light and the tourist attraction is the Spillway at Pymatuning Lake. “Where the ducks walk on the fish” If you’re curious, look up “Linesville Spillway” on YouTube. I went to Linesville First Baptist church from the time I was an infant. The people I grew up with through that church are relationships I will have for the rest of my life. Growing up in such a small town is really quite a blessing.

I moved to Ohio in the beginning of 2008 for a job opportunity I couldn’t refuse. Little did I know that move would change my life forever. I moved here not knowing a single person. It took me about 6 months to get connected to my now home church Christ Community Chapel in Hudson. The community I’ve found myself connected with has been amazing in helping my spiritual growth. I am forever thankful for each and every person I’ve met through that church, my new church family.

I’m extremely emotional. I get that trait from my dad, lets just say when the Spirit blows through us we can’t control our tear ducts. Get us watching a tear jerker and Madre’ sits across the room laughing at us as we’re wiping our eyes. You can be sure that you’ll never be the only one crying in the group, if someone else is crying, whether I know you or not, I’m crying right there with you.

I love volleyball, photography, children, building relationships, serving others, and Africa. I wouldn’t consider myself a daredevil on my own, but I’ve realized I can be talked into almost anything with very little persuasion.

Frosted mini wheats are my go-to breakfast food, yogurt with granola being a very close second.
