Hi Everyone!
My name is Ashley Loeb and I am from the tiny little town of Bernville, Pennsylvania. All I've ever really wanted to do with my life is to change the world. It's cheesey, I know, but its also realistic, moreso now than ever. Throughout the years, there have been many different versions of how I though that would happen, but each of them, with all they're open and shut doors, paved the way for right here and right now: the World Race! My heart for missions started when I was really young, and since then I have been on 3 international mission trips. In 2011, I graduated from Lycoming College with degrees in political science and International studies. When I was ten, my version of how I was going to change the world was that I was going to become president. My reasoning behind this was because to a ten year old, the President of the United States seems like the most powerful person in the world, and naturally, if you want to change the world, you want to be in a position of power. Over my highschool and college years, I slowly realized that being President of the United States is not what I was really being called to be. I now realize that my ultimate calling is to work in the field of international human rights. I would love nothing more than to live in Africa and spend my days feeding orphan children, or saving child soldiers from the horrors of war. Its funny how God's plan for you just sort of falls together over the years. I believe that I am supposed to go on th race for a reason. I realize now that not being able to find a job in my field after graduating college was because I was supposed to go on the race instead, and that by going on the race, I am actually fufulling my dream of changing the world. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully this journey is turning out to be. I have some fears going into the race for sure, but more than anything, I am excited to see how I can be used over these 11 months to change people's lives 🙂
