I have been thinking about team changes probably ever since
Ecuador, when I first found out that there was a chance I wouldn’t be with the
same team for the entire race. At first, I was really happy to discover that I
would have a chance to meet other people on the squad and frankly, none of us
were happy with our team in the beginning anyway.
But, as we got to know each other a little better and were
able to be completely open and honest with one another, I began dreading team
changes. I felt comfortable with my team and thankful to have Kaitlyn as our
leader. I didn’t want to open up to other people and I was not excited about
following anyone other than Kaitlyn.
Finally, I ended up at where I have been for the past
week…at peace. No matter what my team would be, it would be my team for the
remainder of the race whether I liked it or not. Therefore, what good is it
going to do to worry about being with other people?
So, today, we finally found out who are new team members
were….I am happy to report that MOST of my old team is still together.
Actually, besides Kim, we have our entire team. (and besides Meg) I was a little upset to see
that Kim wasn’t with us because I feel like she has helped me grow a lot.
I was happy with the new additions to my team, Annee, Alysa
and Lauren. If I was going to have to get to know people, this was a great
start.

I rode to training camp with Alysa, so we had some time to
get to know each other but as for Annee and Lauren, I had NO IDEA what their
story was, or anything about them really. I’m pretty sure I may have talked to
Annee a little bit at training camp. But, I doubt I have even said two complete
sentences to Lauren.

So, even though this team brings on a whole new dynamic than
what I have adapted to over the past three months, I am looking forward to
making three new sisters and getting to know them for who they are and sharing
who I am with them as well.
After spending one day with them, I have a good feeling
about the next 8 months. We all seem to live a free-spirited life and love the
idea of moving freely in the spirit. And since we all like to dance, our team
name was sort of easy to agree on…

Check out my new team: Unchained Rhythm…..
