WELCOME TO NASLAVCEA!!
Town of less than 1,000 people primarly made up of those who are elderly. It is a country that just recently gained its independence in 1991, and is considered one of the poorest countries in Europe.
You have just arrived by a maxi-taxi
(aka a 12 person van-taxi that usually carries about 25 people standing and sitting).
Come, take a walk with me down the beautiful paths of the countryside.

The greetings of dogs, cats, ducks, and chickens in our path mark that we have almost reached home.

Then we reach this fork in the road, where…
To the left you will find our home, and to the right, the water well.

WELCOME to our humble abode. Please, do come in, and have a look around…
Through the doors on the left, you will find our kitchen/dining/computer room where our ministry host, Art, lives. And to the doors on the right, you will find 2 rooms with 3 beds in each, where my team and I sleep.

Come, take a closer look….
Our kitchen/dining/computer, etc. room where we cook on either a single plug-in electric burner or the fireplace stove, wash all of our dishes in a small bucket, boil water to drink, receive dial-up internet,
and is the host of many late-night conversations.

The next house—the one my team and I stay in—is a 2 bedrooom occupancy housing 6 beds and a fireplace (our source of heat), OH and an aluminum tub in which we bathe…
SO, when you walk directly out of our house, this is the view looking out…

If you walk to the left you will find a path leading up to where we
chop wood, break trees, and pick up loose sticks for our source of heat!
Then, up this path and to the right, you will find a nice little shack with a paper label “WC”…aka our toilet. Welcome to the infamous “squatty potty”.
The mountains (ok really big hills) are our front and backyard,
rivers of streaming waters flow just down the road, animal sounds fill the air,
and everyday we get to experience the peace and stillness of being surrounded by nature.

If you would like to meet one of our neighbors, THE QUEEN OF NASLAVCEA…. I highly recommend checking out my team leader and dear friend, AJ LeVan’s blog….click here to check it out.(oh, and some of these pics belong to AJ—she’s an incredible photographer, check out her pics while you’re at it!)

Much love to you all. Thanks for coming, stop back anytime ; )
