I have some exciting news to tell you! On Wednesday, my team was out walking the
streets of Camotan and practicing ATL (ask the Lord), where we ask God to lead
us to the people He would have us minister to.
As we were walking, we ended up at the house where Mayra, the
seventeen-year-old girl who was demon possessed (see my other blog “Where Were
You God?” for more details). We decided
to stop in and say hello to the kids and families there. While Tara was talking to the kids in
Spanish, she saw Mayra walk by the entryway to the house! We couldn’t believe it; she was awake and
walking around! We then found out that
Mayra had awoken the day after we had prayed for her. The demon is gone and she is free! Praise God!
We were so excited to hear this news, and
we all wanted to meet Mayra and continue to love on her. At first, though, she was too ashamed to come
out. She thought that the demon
possession was her fault, and was embarrassed to meet us. Tara went in and spoke with her for a bit and
eventually convinced her to come out.
She came to the doorway and we got to meet her face to face. It was an incredible blessing to see God’s
deliverance in her life. She spoke of
her newfound hope in Christ and of His love for her. There was a complete difference in Mayra from
the last time we had seen her.
We ended our visit with her by praying for
her, which was so precious. We told
Mayra that we would continue to pray for her, and that our families and friends
back home were praying for her too. Please continue to lift Mayra and her
family up in your prayers. As a team, we
are asking God to bring a spiritual mentor into Mayra’s life who can encourage
her and continue to speak truth over her.
Nothing is too big for God! He
healed Mayra in His perfect timing, and I know that He will not let her slip
away from Him now. To God be all the
glory!
