I’ve finally made it to Central America! The leg of this journey that I’ve been so SO excited about! Getting off the plane I felt a sweet breath of Poppa’s all over me. Almost as if He was showering me in a refreshing and gentle wind that was empowering me to persevere throughout these last three months.

Antigua
We’re in Antigua, Guatemala this month. Antigua is a very touristy area. I have never heard so much English and seen so much white skin in 9 months!
It’s Manistry and WOmanistry month – aka, all the women are together and all the men are together. This month I’ll be working with our contact, Luis, and his organization Nuvea Generación. His ministry seeks to empower students to deny the temptations of this life and seek and find Jesus. Guatemala has a high percentage of gang activity. A few years ago, the government sought to combat this problem by introducing the bible into students’ everyday curriculum. Luis had the incredible opportunity to teach this curriculum. Soon after it’s introduction, many political issues formed, so it was removed. However, Luis still felt the call of the Lord on his life to teach students about Jesus. And that’s how Nueva Generacion came about.
Nueva Generación developed their own curriculum to take into school systems. They teach students ethics and character development. Students have responded well and more than 70% of the students have received Christ through being a part of this class. Awesome.
So, that’s my role this month – to teach these students about Jesus. And if you know me on any level, that is SO my heart. So I am ESTATIC about this month! We’ll have opportunities to go into the mountains of Guatemala and share the gospel and teach as well. AMAZING!
I’m excited about what God has planned to do this month in me and in these people. Continue to pray a covering of receiving hearts over this place.

Our hostel this month!
