this is REAL LIFE!
I have officially began my World Race journey! Last Sunday, September 4th I left Reagan National Airport and headed to Atlanta Georgia. God blessed my heart with sweet "see ya laters". I was so blessed to have my whole family, college friends, and Tyler see me off at the airport. Once I arrived in Atlanta, some family picked me up at the airport and I stayed with them overnight. Suchhh a blessing! While visiting with them, we watched the movie "Soul Surfer" which is about a young girl who loses her arm during a shark attack. This movie really helped set the tone for my race. I heart yearns for the depth and knowledge of Jesus Christ that this girl knew deeply and intimately.
On Monday I met the team leaders and logistics leaders at the airport. We all piled on a bus and headed to Gainsville where we discussed a lot of info pertaining to the upcoming year! It was so fun reconnecting with everyone! We had quite a relaxing morning on Tuesday and then headed to Little Mexico, a small community in Gainsville, to meet the rest of our squad for some field training experience. Little Mexico is literally like being in a small Mexican village. I was able to use some of my spanish knowledge to get us some food :] My momma would be so proud haha!
We were in Little Mexico from Tuesday afternoon until this morning. We had a lot of debriefing meetings, worship, and talks preparing us to launch into this new season of life. One of our dear sisters on the squad, Britni, was baptized this morning. It was the most beautiful and emotional baptism I have ever seen. Hopefully a video of it will be posted somewhere soon!
It has been awesome meeting with my team again and the realness that radiates through them! The Lord has really been speaking to my heart since training camp about what He has for our team this year. God showed me specific verses from Proverbs 31 that exemplify each of my girls' character. He also gave me vivid images of what parts of the armor of God each girl brings to our team. I'm excited to see how the Lord uses us this year! Team LOL is full of light. Our name has proven thus far to be prophetic and I pray that we continue to walk boldly in that. I'm blessed to be involved in such a strong spirit filled community.
I'm currently sitting in LAX airport, preparing to board our flight that leaves at 1150PM tonight. We began our travels this moring in Georgia at 1030am. Basically, by the time it's all said and done with we'll have been traveling for almost two days. It's ok, this is our life for a year :] Word up to few showers and rewearing clothes daily! Thankfully the Lord stretched my heart from being so girly! I've worn the same shirt 3 days in a row already! Don't worry I changed for all the travel today ;]
I can't wait to touch Philippine soil and begin this journey for real! Please keep my team and squad in your prayers as we adjust! To the time change, for excellent health, and prepared hearts for ministry. Our biggest hope is to see lives changed for Jesus! May the light that we bring there expel the darkness and bring life and healing!
Here's a few pictures from one of my teammates, Jessica!

This is our team sharing a meal "on a budget". What up bologna and cheese! haha

And this is our squad piled on the bus ready to began our journey to the Philippines.
PS. I am officially FULLY FUNDED! Praise the Lord for answering my biggest prayer! Thanks to all my supporters who made that possible! I pray many blessings upon your lives :]
