Hey YALL

I'm Ashley! I'm 21! I’m from a teeny town, Goshen, VA in central southern Virginia. Our town isn’t even on the map. We have about 8 stop signs and no traffic lights. SO country. The only happening thing in town is my grandparent’s gas station. And yes, we would go there to eat lunch after church some Sundays :] I LOVE the mountains and the simplicity of southern living, but I probably won’t live there again in my life. Maybe for retirement.

I graduated from George Mason University, with a BA in Global Affairs and Spanish. My time at Mason was bittersweet. Looking back, it feels so short, like I just walked onto campus yesterday. I would truly say that college is where I really "found" myself – found myself in life, in who God created me, and what God created me for. I literally walked onto campus and got involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, which has radically changed my life. Through this organization I was presented the gospel in a way that completely transformed my life for eternity. For the first time, I began to experience God's grace and forgiveness fully. I was exposed to what living a life radically for Jesus is truly like – whether that be spending time in bible study, discipling girls or being discipled, spending my summers on mission trips, whatever it may be or have been, the Lord was in control of it all. I feel so privileged and blessed to have spent my college years at Mason.

God knew what He was doing when He created my family. I have been blessed with two incredible parents who have always been super encouraging and supportive through everything – every hard time, good time, and all those in between times. They’re both solid believers and have been throughout my life, which I’m so thankful for! They met in a doctor’s office that my mom was working at. My Daddy thought my Momma was cute and asked for her number. This year they will celebrate 25 years of marital bless. Praise Jesus!

I have one sibling; a twin sister and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. We haven’t always been the best of friends, but college has radically transformed our relationship. Talking to her has become one of my favorite parts of the day. She knows me super well and always knows exactly what to say. As cliché as that sounds, I like to think it’s that “freaky twin thing” :] I look up to her for her drive for excellence and dedication. She’s a rare find indeed – one of those people that knows exactly how to make me the maddest, but also makes me laugh the hardest. I don’t get to see her as much as I’d like, but when I do see her, it’s always a blessing.

This is my sister's boyfriend, Brandon. I like to refer to him as B, Beebs, or Bebe. He enjoys pumping iron, eating mcflurries, and knowing all the words to every rap song, EVER. I love hanging out with him and I'm so thankful he's become a part of my sister's life.

One thing I love the most about B is his cray crayness. Beautifully displayed right here in this cute little nugget:
Isn't it weird how much we look alike? haha

Look at this precious little gem.

We have a cat. Now, usually I wouldn’t mention this, but she’s kinda like royalty in our family. Her name is Cleo and she enjoys long walks through the woods, excessive feedings, and a nice relaxing evening with catnip. She’s unruly and ornery, but I don't love her any less.

This is my boyfriend Tyler. On good days our skin isn't that red/pink. He enjoys omelettes, air drumming to any and every song, and a good workout with Shaun T. We met on a Summer Project two summers ago with Campus Crusade in Ocean City, Maryland. Basically, we weren't really friends and only had one "real" conversation. The first time I met him, he was yelling at me across the street as "that girl from Mason". Romantic huh? haha. We were always really good friends and kept in "friendly" contact. He actually grew up near where I went to college, so I saw him often. Eventually, the stars aligned, my daddy approved, and we started dating! It's been fun to see God work in and through our relationship in how He brought us together and how He's preparing our hearts as I prepare to be gone for a year. We're both confident in the Lord's plan and know that He'll provide peace and contentment as long as we continue to find our joy in Him.

God has also blessed me immensely with awesome friends. Friends that make me laugh, challenge me in my walk with the Lord, speak truth into my life, and always point me to Christ. I love every single one of them!
