Blogging has been something Ive found difficult to do these past few months. Here’s a recap of the past few months from Thailand to our current month in Honduras .

Thailand
We worked at a girls home called ABBA house while we were there me and illy taught a young man who was saved during an outreach to the juvenile detention centre. When he came to the centre he couldn’t read or write thai and couldn’t understand any English , so they placed him at another home for a few boys and everyday we had the opportunity to teach him english which was always so much fun , he always made it seem like he understood less than he did and we always got to joke around .

I also got to teach English to a few teenage girls who were absolutely fantastic , they understood a lot of English so we would spend our hour talking about their life goals, their families and friends at home and what they learned that day . We laughed until we cried too often .

They taught me that my job wasn’t to teach them from a book , my job was to listen to them and help them make sentences , my job was to love them where they were at, my job was to notice them and invest in them . At times I felt I wasn’t doing enough , that they weren’t learning what they should , until God reminded me that I only get to be there for one month and my job is to care about their day to day . We had dance parties, and cooking classes, we shared silly stories And played charades like pros.

Favourite memory: conquering sticky falls , and enjoying all the beauty there

Thailand was a month of bonding with my team , laughing till we cried, late nights, brownies and so much more .

Malaysia

Our time in Malaysia was spent working with destiny for children , I helped with the toddler class . I quickly realized my ministry wasn’t ministry , my ministry was loving the people we got the chance to live with. We lived in a dorm with some wonderful ladies who invested in us constantly , they were always up for an adventure and a good laugh . I have two favourite moments from this month

#1 favourite moment: putting my friends baby to sleep almost everyday , he is precious and made me realize just how much I am looking forward to having my own family one day . His mother was loving and always willing to teach me something new about how to care for him .

#2 favourite moment : our friend Shakeela . We were invited to her house on a Sunday for lunch which turned into diner as well , while we were there they shared incredible stories about how The Lord has provided for them and saved them . We also picked a date November 15th that they will be coming to canada ! Pease join me in praying for the family , we are all expecting Incredible things!.

Nicaragua

Our first week in Nicaragua was spent with Jiame and monica leading bible studies and doing construction . It was the most refreshing week of the race, they invested in us and spoiled us in every way possible , we all wish we could have stayed longer .
Favourite moment : watching our host pray for the security guard at the grocery store all in Spanish , finding out hours later the guy had actually just been saved !
Our hosts constantly walked out that ministry was not the 9-5

The next few weeks were spent on ometepe island , there we did yard work ,construction , I never thought I would enjoy digging and dumping dirt , but our days of construction were some of my favourites . We also did prayer walks which were always fun because I don’t speak Spanish , one of the days we prayed for a lady whose leg hurt who invited us to her house to pray for her family and hear some of their story. It was such a great day .
This month we had team changes which has been great , we spent time getting to know each other better .

#1 favourite moment : praying for a couple from Canada on the beach after her husband hurt his foot on the scooter

#2 favourite moment: killing the scorpion and chasing the frogs out of my room with Claudia .

Honduras
This month we are up in the mountains of Honduras , we are in a cloud forest which pretty much means we are were all the clouds are being formed . The air here is nice and cool and rains everyday , we have hot showers and awesome hosts who have a great sense of humour. Mornings are spent at a school giving the kids breakfast and a message , afternoons are spent making piñatas for children’s day and evenings are spent sharing our happies and crappies of the day and sharing stories .
