HAPPY INDEPENDENCE
DAY! I hope you all celebrated in style.I did.

Well, friends and family I’m a little behind on the blog
writing but I’ll catch up soon. We’ve made it to Romania. My team and I are staying
in Bucharest
working with our contact, Becky, and her ministry called Casa Shalom. It’s
awesome. This week we are hosting a JBQ (Junior Bible Quiz) camp so I get to
hang out with kids and play games outside with them. Basically, I have the best
camp job ever where I get to play with the kids and when I’m tired I can escape
to my room (which is awesome by the way…a comfy bed and we have a western
toilet and hot showers).

Some of you might know that my senior year of high school my
mom, neighbor, and my friend and her mom went on a mission trip to Romania. The
first foreign country I ever visited besides Canada so it holds a special place
in my heart. I love this place. The people. The food. The weather. The presence
of God at this camp. It’s great. I could not ask for a better country to end
this amazing journey around the world.

Ahh! The end is near. I’m freaking out. No joke. I literally
have 34,642,987 different emotions going through my mind at any point during
the day. This race has been amazing and I’ve grown so much and changed a ton. I
read a blog of a racer who recently went back home and he said, “Dear pre-race friends and family, please
forget the old me. I am a new person. Be prepared to meet a new friend or
family member.”
There is so much truth to that and I’m excited to take what
I’ve learned about everything back home to America. Life is good.

It’s the 4th of July. We were blessed with an
awesome celebration and luncheon. Chicken. Mashed potatoes. Sparklers. Soup.
American flag. Red, white, and blue clothes. And a birthday cake for America. I’ve
never been so patriotic, but I have learned that I love America and we
are beyond blessed to live where we do.

Well, that is a quick snapshot of what life looks like for
me right now. I’ll be arriving and JFK airport in NYC on the 30th of
July. Get excited! More blogs to follow…including some from our time in Ukraine. Enjoy
this day to celebrate our independence with family and friends! Much love from Romania!
