Things I learned in the Mall Bathroom…
1. They are called comfort rooms
2. The lines are formed behind each individual stall. Not just one line going to the next available stall.
3. For the first time in my life I was taller than everyone. I felt like Lisa Leslie. That was fun!
4. Green on the latch means taken. Red means the stall is empty.
5. Nobody washes their hands.
6. There is no toilet paper. And not like they ran out…there is not even a dispenser.
7. Sinks are there to brush your teeth and apply makeup.
8. There is no soap
Those are a few of the cultural differences. Just think, that’s only the bathroom. Life is full of adaptations and changes right now. Its super fun and I am really enjoying life right now. God has truly blessed me thus far.
On a more serious note, I’ve made it to our ministry site for the month. We are in General Santos on one of the southern islands working with International Care Ministries. They care for the poorest of the poor and it has been so wonderful working with them in these few short days. I am excited to see what God has in store for us. Its been great. Life is good!
