Story Time

This is the story about a boy named Ryan.

I first met Ryan on my way to do some interior decorating
for our contacts’ new restaurant. He was on staff and was taking us to the
parking garage. I remember being shocked that he was only 18 years old. Fast
forward a week or so and now my whole team has a new friend.

Let me tell you about out new friend. He is a young man with
a Buddhist background but not really practicing. He grew up lacking love and
looking for it anywhere. No real father figure in his life. He had a joy about
him yet you could tell he was missing something.

My team and I poured all kinds of love into him. Our
contacts, Peter and Carol, have been loving on him and planting God’s seeds in
Ryan’s heart. We encouraged him. We prayed for him. We prayed with him. We
befriended him with the love of God. God sent the rain to water the seeds in
the form of Team Ants. We loved on him at all times.

One night our team had a great conversation with him about
God’s love for him. He was super receptive of all the information. A few nights
later my teammate and I were able to really talk with him about his past and
how God can fill all the loneliness and brokenness he has. My teammate really
spoke life into him and it was evident that the Spirit of the Lord was speaking
through her.

Then we left for the jungle for the weekend. On Friday night
our contact, Carol, sent us a text message saying, “Praise the Lord! We just
led Ryan in the salvation prayer! He is now born again!” What a miracle and an
answer to prayers.
