Tonight my team and I partook in a Filipino delicacy. We ate
some balut. For those of you who don’t know what balut is (I didn’t know) it is
according to Wikipedia…
“A balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg
with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell”
So we did it. I’d be lying if I said it was delicious, but
it wasn’t terrible. I am glad to have been able to experience the culture but
don’t think I’ll be trying it again soon. I’ll stick to the rice and chicken.Please google balut for more information and photos…
