It’s A Great Day To Be Alive

 

Ministry

Visited homes in villages where we saw the poorest of the
poor. Prayed with the residents. Saw how dependent they are on God.

Visited local preschools where the kids sang us songs and
recited poems.

Worshiped at an English-speaking church on Sunday.

Handed out rice to residents in local villages.

Prayed for a 49 year old woman as she heads off to
missionary school. She told me she would never forget me.

Led a devotional for the ICM staff and our team.

Traveled to several houses and conducted lifestyle and
health surveys.

Gave my testimony to several Filipinos which had to be
translated. That was a new experience.

Held beautiful babies.

Mowed the lawn in a giant field with a machete.

Picked up trash to clean up a yard.

Prayed with three women as they decided to make the greatest
decision of their life to follow Jesus.

Installed bio-sand water filters at local preschools.

Painted a giant brick wall for a local church.

Random Fun Stuff

Went bowling with the ICM staff which is a bit different
than American bowling.

Rode in a van as we drove through a river with water buffalo
in it – Oregon Trail style.

Attended the only Tuna Festival in the world where we
watched a beauty pageant, rode carnival rides, watched street dancers, etc.

Went to the mall to look for a postcard to send to my old
co-worker, Courtney.

White sand beach. Need I say more?

Danced in the rain.

Learned how to make homemade laundry softener.

Tried the fruit, durian.

Plunged our nasty smelling toilet.

Visited a pineapple plantation.

Ate a delicious fish dinner prepared for us by the ICM team.

And I’ve been laughing a lot!
