IT’S A GIRL!

As most of you know I
am the farthest thing from a girly-girl. I grew up a tomboy and embraced it. No
frills and curls for me. Just basketball shorts and a ponytail.

Well, things are
slowly changing on this trip and I’m learning to embrace what it means to be a
girl. Trust me, it’s not easy and I still wear a ponytail daily.

A week ago our
contact told us that we would be having a girls day. I was not excited.
Actually, I was dreading it to the max. I made it known to my team that I did
not want to go. My team and squad leader challenged me to embrace it and step
out of my comfort zone because that’s what we do on the World Race. I accepted
the challenge. So Saturday I went to girl’s day and embraced it. Here is a
small look into some of the things I partook in. I have a secret…

If I’m being honest, I didn’t hate it.
Part of me even enjoyed it.

I wore a pink shirt
with ruffle stuff

I got my hair all
done up and curled

I read and discussed Proverbs 31 with women

I got a pedicure

We learned how to
belly-dance

This day got me thinking…WHO AM I? I wouldn’t do this in my pre-World Race life with open eyes and a joyful attitude. But, God’s been teaching me to embrace who He’s made me to be and I love it! As women of God we are sisters. And together we have power. The power to love. The power to be freed. The power to impact lives.
