This race has taught me so much about how big and great our
God is and there is nothing too big to ask of Him. He has absolutely blown the
box that I had him in wide open. God has really been showing me the power of
prayer for healing. It all started in Malaysia…
Our team was paired with another for ministry for the month.
One of the guys from the other team, Andrew, had gotten injured while climbing
a mountain. The first night he asked me to pray for healing for him. I’ve never
really prayed with authority for something like that and I was scared to death.
My teammate, JD, joined me and we prayed. And I prayed the next night and the
next. Then Andrew left for the jungle. I continued to pray and God was
faithful. He miraculously healed Andrew’s leg. I love it when God shows off
like that.
So, come with me to Cambodia. My new team leader, Amy,
was sharing with us about a stomach issue she’s dealt with every day for her
entire life and how the night before she couldn’t sleep because she was in so
much pain. Attempting to be bold in what I know God can do, I asked her if she
(or anyone) had ever prayed for God to heal it. She had not and it had never
really even crossed her mind because she was so used to living with it.
Right then and there my team prayed with authority and
passion for God to heal her. Her pain felt a bit better but not completely when
we were finished so we went at it again. We prayed with all we had that God,
being the Great Physician, would heal her stomach.
The next morning her stomach didn’t really bother her!
Praise the Lord! We were excited and I was blown away at how mighty our God is.
BUT…the next morning the pain was back. The enemy tried to attack and we fought
back hard. With God on our side, nothing is impossible!
We took the authority God has given us to pray and
pray and pray some more for the sake of our teammate. And God delivered in an
amazing way. Amy has no pain. It has been a week and half and she’s had no
stomach issues. Praise the Lord for his mighty works! I love seeing God work in
ways I’ve never even dreamed!
