Wow. It’s so hard to believe that it is already Thanksgiving
back in the states. Usually I knew the time was coming because of all the exams
and pre-break papers. Or that my brother and grandpa were hunting a lot. Of
course, the cold weather and snow were great hints that Thanksgiving was
approaching.

Well, here in Thailand I’ve had no exams or
papers to write. Nobody is hunting. And there certainly is not any snow or cold
weather for that matter. I am sitting here in my room sweating from the 90
degree weather.

BUT, just because it doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving, that
doesn’t mean I don’t have reason to be thankful. This year, more than ever,
I’ve been extremely thankful. Here is why…

  1. I get
to be on the World Race with 40 young adults who love the Lord and are
living passionately for Him every day.
  2. I have
a ton of supporters back home that have helped me financially fund my trip
and there are so many more people praying for me.
  3. My
family is so supportive and loving. They are amazing and although I miss
them I know that God is taking care of each one of them.
  4. I have
friends who care deeply about me.
  5. I have
a great team who speaks life and encouragement on a daily basis.
  6. I’ve
been blessed with great contacts throughout the race and have lifelong
relationships with people in the Philippines
    and Malaysia.
  7. I have
food and clothes. I know it’s the standard answer that seems to always be
giving by little kids at Thanksgiving, but I’m coming to realize how
little we can really live off and it’s been so humbling.
  8. I am
so thankful for freedom. In other countries they do not have the freedom
to worship or evangelize to others and that is something I’ve taken for
granted in the past. I’m so thankful that in America we are free to worship
God with no fear of being persecuted by the government.
  9. I get
to wake up new every morning. Each day is a new day to serve God in
whatever capacity He has in store for me.
  10. I have
a God who loves me more than I could ever imagine. It’s not
comprehendible, yet He loves each of you the same!
