Hi! My name is Ashley and I am completely new at blogging so this is going to be kind of rough!
First of all, I am 23 years old and originally from a little town near Chicago. After I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to get out of that snow and head towards the ocean for college. That led me to Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, FL. I just graduated from FGCU with a BA in Environmental Studies and a BS in Marine Sciences, woohoo! However, the best thing about my college career has been the fact that I gained a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Now that I have graduated, the famous question is “what’s next?” Answer: The World Race!!! Let me admit that while I am so excited, I am terrified of actually going on the World Race. I love to travel and am stoked to be backpacking around the world, but I am afraid of failure and I can't believe that God wants me to be a representation of Christ to all of these countries. However, I know that He is leading me where He wants me to go and that my success/failure is not in my hands. So basically I'm resting on the fact that I am an example of His perfect patience and unending grace while going out into the world to serve others as Jesus did; "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many"-Mark 10:45.
The most important lesson Jesus has taught me so far is that I can trust Him. I need to trust Him. I’ve been pretty independent in my life, but my motivation ran out quick when I realized where the source came from. He is the only source that is never ending. I am still learning this lesson and am excited to see what He will teach me about trusting Him through this journey.

Thanks and God Bless!
