I am still $8,343 away from being fully funded.
I’m almost halfway there! It’s all been God and God alone.
I need to have $11,000 in my World Race account by December 1st. That actually is not that far away. That’s $3,100 that I need to have in my account by the end of Vietnam. $3,100. That seems like a lot of money to me. But, to God, it’s nothing. A drip in the bucket. Not even. It’s like a millionth of a drip in the bucket. I am not confident that God is going to bring the money in for me to stay on my World Race but I am SO confident that God’s will IS going to happen. Here or there, I am so happy. I am so confident in God.
My confidence is not going to make me sit back and not think about raising money for me to stay on this race. I am confident that God’s will IS going to happen. My wish is that me continuing on the race is God’s will, but either way: I am going to “fundraise like it all depends on me and trust like it all depends on God”.
So, here’s my idea: if 282 people donated $11 dollars to my World Race account, I will make the December 1st deadline. So, I am going to set up an event- via our favorite social media website… yup, Facebook- “Ashley’s $11 on 11/11”. On November (11) 11th, I would like to have an event asking people to donate $11 to my World Race account. The goal is 282 people.
THAT GOAL CAN SO EASILY BE MADE!!
With a Little Help from my Friends.
It’s 11 dollars.
What do you spend $11 on?
Two Starbucks coffees.
One movie ticket. (I have to insert here that there is a dollar theater in Spartanburg. I love it! Two movie tickets, two large popcorns and two large drinks for $12.25! You should totally check it out!)
A shirt… maybe half a shirt. Lol
One adult and one kids meal at Chick Fil A.
A carwash.
Two dozen Krispy Kreme donoughts.
Would you consider giving whatever that one or two 11 dollar thing is to invest it in the work that God is doing here?
And if you are thinking,
“wow, Ashley is being so forward, she just wants to use us so she can get money”
then don’t give me money, but I still challenge you to invest it in Kingdom work.
give it to my teammate-

Ministry is going FABULOUSLY!
God is SO good! He is doing SO much for L Squad. He is SO present here.
We are having worship every night. The vulnerability and openness of our squad is awesome to watch and it is bringing us immensely closer to each other and to our LORD. It is unspeakable the love that I have for each member of our squad. Annnnndddd this is JUST the BEGINNING!! We have nine more months of this! It is so awesome to see so many people step into the gifting that almighty God has given. Whether it is leading worship, encouraging others, preaching or even using artistic gifting to paint a mural on the wall at the cafe… God bestows them all.
This Saturday, we are driving on a bus to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Originally, I thought that it was a 40 hour bus ride but *relief* it’s only 27… so there’s that. ๐ Four of the teams will be doing ministry in the city and the other two will be traveling to a northern city, up the coast. Vietnam is a closed country, so we will definitely be posting things with more reserve next month. My team will be teaching English to students in the university… among *other* stuff. EXCITING NEWS!! Team Burning Joy will be living in a HOTEL next month!!!
A HOTEL.
A HOTEL!!
We will have beds!
We will have a bug free shower! ** EHop even said that the shower will have a glass partition between the shower head and the rest of the bathroom. So we will be able to keep our clothes dry when we shower!!**
WE WILL BE LIVING IN AIR CONDITIONING!!! *What is this life??!
My team and I were talking and we decided that God was so gracious in allowing us to go to Cambodia first. (If you remember- maybe you didn’t know- but, we were supposed to go to Thailand and then Cambodia.
Man, going to Cambodia first really gives us a deep and real appreciation for the little things! Like Air Conditioning ๐
It’s the little things.
Wow, that can be a hashtag- #ItsTheLittleThings
Looks good to me!!
I love you all!
Ash
