First, let me say that we are still the same team- Ehop is still the leader, we still have all the same girls. We have just changed our name to TLC. ‘Turning Lives to Christ’, ‘Turnt Livin fo’ Christ’, ‘Tender Loving Care’- you can choose it to stand for any of it- it’s totally up to you!

Want to know what a day in the life of #TeamTLC is like in Rwanda?

Let me just tell you our weekly schedule. I’m pretty pleased- I made a calendar this month and my contact and I filled it out with our team’s schedule.

On Sunday we have a service. Monday is our rest day. On Tuesday and Wednesday we have door to door evangelism in the morning and an evening service. On Thursday we have door to door evangelism in the morning and in the afternoon, we teach drama to the children. On Friday we have a service in the morning. Saturday is another morning with the children- playing games, teaching Bible stories, and singing songs.

That is a week in the lives of TLC.

On another note, I’ve already had some great memories and seen God so much:

Ehop and I met an older gentleman, his name is Frederick. We both feel like he is a person that God wants us to hang out with. When I was first introduced to the Race, I read a blog about my friend when she was in Africa. Every day she would go visit a lady that she and a teammate had met. They didn’t know each other’s language, but they had their own language and could communicate. Since reading that blog, I’ve been praying for someone for me like that. Someone in Africa that I could visit daily and just BE with. Well, God answered with a yes and now I have Frederick. We’ve already gone back to visit Frederick and he was full of so much pure JOY when we went back to see him. WOW.
Am I Surprised? NO!

Also, I have to say this as a quick add on… I just told Lynda about Frederick. About praying for him. Everything. And she just told me that

THE NAME FREDERICK HAS BEEN ON HER HEART!!!!

Am I Surprised? NO!

This past Tuesday, I walked into the church we work with here for the first time. There was a man on stage. One of the first things that I heard him say was “God is good… All the time, and All the time… God is good”
People.
I say that ALL THE TIME!

Am I Surprised? NO!

When we were talking about preaching this month and the schedule, I said that I could go ahead and preach that first night. I said that I could just talk about the Parable of the Sower- since I preached on that last month and already had a sermon. But, when I walked into the church to preach, I preached on something else because I felt God telling me to.
Just a couple of days later, our alumni squad leader came to be with our team for the day. He was going to preach at a service that we were having that day. We sat down when he got up to preach… guess what his sermon was? Yupp, it was on the Parable of the Sower. One reason that God had me speak on something else was for Owen to be able to preach the sermon that he had prepared. It was so Owen could preach it!

Am I Surprised? NO!

Rwanda is so awesome and I am so thankful to be here! It’s hard to imagine my Race without Rwanda on the agenda….
… That is how it was until the evening before we launched! No Rwanda on the list.
But you know what?

God already KNEW that we would be here!

I’ve already seen God so so much in Rwanda.
He has done so so much.
Anndd He is going to do so so much more!

Stay Tuned! More is coming…
