Life is busy. So busy. It feels like sleep, work, eat, repeat. This bill is coming up, this doctor’s appointment needs to be scheduled, the car needs to be washed, that lawn needs to be mowed. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like I’m robotically going about this thing called LIFE. We were not created to just go about our lives and do our survival thing.                                                                                                                                                  “We were made to live for so much more…”

We were made to bring Glory to God. We are here on Earth to tell others about our Abba. We are here to show His love to all people. We are here to glorify Him. And that glory we bring to God can be with other people: corporate worship, evangelizing, showing His love to the nations- but glorifying God also occurs individually. We can praise and worship Him, bring glory to Him individually. To rest in Him, revel in His handiwork, enjoy His creation.

Today, I used my Eno for the first time. I went hammocking for the first time.

I. LOVED. IT.

I just wanna go out and live in a hammock now. No bed, no mattress, no pillows- just me and creation…. then, I was like… uhh, maybe not live in. I’ll settle for having me and Jesus time.

Seriously though, it was awesome! Added Bonus: the weather was amazing today! It’s like God made nature extra extra special just for me- like, He showed me, in the teeny tiniest way, a glimpse of His UTTER love for me. It was EXTRAORDINARY.

I just feel like hammocking is the perfect way to Sabbath with God, to rest in our heavenly Father: to rest in who we are as His children. As Christians, God is always with us, the Holy Spirit DWELLS in us, we are never alone. He is ALWAYS with us. Today, when I hammocked, I felt like I was close to Him.

So, basically, what I want to say is 1) don’t get caught up in life. I know, personally, that that is so super easy to do. Our purpose is so much greater than getting this promotion or that new car.

James 4:14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

Life is a vapor. Your breath on that cold winter morning. You see it for a second and then it’s gone.

And 2) make time in your busy schedule- I know we all have those busy schedules- and REST. Glorify and worship God. Renew a correct perspective on life. It’s worth it- I promise!!
