Prayer.
For a long time, I didn’t really understand prayer.
“why does it matter if we pray or not? God already knows what is going to happen (thinking about praying when we are petitioning God for something) us praying or not really isn’t going to matter, is it?”
I would never have let anyone know I didn’t understand and I really didn’t even pinpoint that I didn’t understand it.
I am not saying that I even understand prayer in totality. I don’t.
BUT:
I KNOW that prayer is WORSHIP.
We glorify God when we pray. We exalt His name when we pray. We worship our Creator King when we individually pray.
BUT WAIT….
…THERE’S MORE
corporate prayer.
Corporate prayer is worship. And I LOVE it! God says that where two or three are gathered in His name, HE is there. In corporate prayer, you don’t only get to worship when you pray to God, you ALSO get to worship and praise God when the other people are praying! It’s like you get to see Jesus, His divine being, and what He is doing through a whole other perspective!
I can honestly say that corporate prayer is probably my favorite form of worshiping Jesus! Right next to singing, of course!
Praying in groups is difficult if it is something new. I challenge you all to try it though. It’s worth it, I promise!
