February 15th marks the halfpoint of our Race. That was the day we did squad Valentine’s day.
Before I tell you about that, I want to say something I just remembered a few days ago.
People- previous racers- have said that month 6, the halfway point, is probably when the race is the toughest. Month 6 is the toughest month- at least one of the toughest. This was our month 6. Ethiopia. It was hands down MY favorite month. It was a lot of the squad’s favorite month too.

Squad Valentine’s Day was awesome. We were out of power. The power went out the night before. (That was the first time that the power had gone out. After that, we lost power more and more frequently.) The power pumps the water to the house. But, we were all able to take showers. Everyone that wanted one got to take one. I think that may just be an important fact to me… ๐Ÿ™‚ We had squad speed dating. We lined up the tables and sat team by team. We all had three minutes with each other. It was a fun time. Some people, *cough, Scott, cough* decided to have an alter ego for the whole speed dating game. ๐Ÿ™‚ We ate lunch before we did speed dating in the afternoon. The men did lunch for all of us. (With Bekah overseeing in the kitchen, of course) The escorted all of the girls to the tables for lunch, and then they all served us. It was great. Most of them wore shirts that they had boughten on the race, so it was a colorful experience. ๐Ÿ™‚

February 15th.
Halfway there.
Squad Valentine’s Day.
Epic.
