When something really, really, really, really remote happens.
When something unbelievably awesome happens.
When something is so unfathomable because the odds are never in your favor.
We say all the time that it is a “once in a lifetime” chance/odd/moment.

Well, let me introduce you to the
Once in a World Race moment

This World Race is 11 months. Circa 336 days.

In traveling to different continents, it is not uncommon for the racers to hit America one day. Not even for a day. For one layover. Just the few hours of that layover.
One day out of 336.
Not even.
A few hours out of 336 days.

The day that we hit New York City for our layover was the evening of May 2nd into the morning of May 3rd.

We have a girl on our squad named Lisa Casey. I love this girl! She is so awesome 🙂
Her birthday is May 3rd!

So, the one day that we hit America is her birthday.
Boom. Weird odd, right?
Crazy.

Well, let’s go further.

Lisa Casey is from New York.
BOOM.
Not only hitting America on her birthday- 1 out of 336 chance,
BUT
hitting her STATE on her BIRTHDAY on the ONE day we hit the states! What are the odds!?!?
Crazy.

Even further.
Lisa Casey’s parents drove to the airport that we were flying into and picked her up so that she could go to HER HOUSE during the layover!!

Her HOUSE, her STATE, her BIRTHDAY- the ONE day that we hit America out of 336?! Wow.
Crazy.
THAT, my friends, is
ONCE IN A WORLD RACE.

And it happened.

Let’s just add that to Anna sitting beside her best friend on the plane to Ethiopia, Andrew running into his Vienna roommate in Italy, Becky running into a girl from home in a stadium that apostle Paul spoke in in Albania, Simone sitting in the plane seat by her dad on the way to Honduras, Martha running into her friend from Toronto children’s choir in Thailand, and Werness running into people from the Ranch that she worked on in Cambodia.

God is doing crazy, crazy awesome things on our squad. He is doing some crazy, crazy
Once in a World Race moments for us.

We have three months left. I am excited to see what other Once in a World Race moments He has for us!
