A government needs the support (sometimes coerced) of its governed. *cough, taxes, cough*
A scuba diver needs the support of the air tank on his back.
A pet needs the support of his owner.
A plant needs the support of the earth.
A person needs the support of his physical body.
A missionary needs the support of his church.
My trip needs the support of YOU.

A lot of people (yeah, I’m speaking about me) find it really intimidating and frustrating to ask for support. God has really been teaching me- growing me- in this area, and I would like to share.First- God has this! I should not worry about it.
Letting people know about it, gives more opportunity for YOU to be listening to what God wants you to do. For example- let’s say God is telling you to give Sally Joe money. You have no idea why- she hasn’t said that she is going on a mission trip, she hasn’t said that she needs money. You are going to be more reluctant about it being God impressing you to give. You would also be more susceptible to Satan. It would be easier for Satan to tell you, no- God isn’t telling you to give her support- she doesn’t even need it. BUT let’s say Sally Joe let you know that she needed support. Now when God impresses you to give/support Sally Joe- you are less reluctant and it is easier for you to do God’s will.
This Trip IS GOD’S WILL for my life- I have NO doubt. Me not letting you guys know about it and my needs for it would be wrong. WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST- we have one goal as Christians and we all work together for that.
Another thing- that God has actually been teaching me, through the YEAR+ that I have been attending my church, CityLights, is that WE ARE OWNERS OF NOTHING, WE ARE STEWARDS OF EVERYTHING!! Our “stuff” is not ours anyways, it is Gods.
If we truly are the hands and feet of Christ, His body- we wouldn’t hide what one hand is doing from our physical body- why “hide” what one part of the Body is doing from the other?
1 Corinthians 12
v 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
Guys, for this trip I NEED y’all to support me. When we think about support- the first thing we think of is financial support. This is NOT the only form of support. Yes, I need to raise quite a bit of money and I need support that way, but I know that it is not feasible for some people. Consider supporting me a different way then. I need prayer warriors- praying for me on the trip, BUT ALSO praying for me RIGHT NOW. I need people just letting me know that this trip is a good idea. I need people reading and SHARING my blog. Friends, God WILL use this blog.
I’ve broken down some of the ways that I need support. Please prayerfully consider what God would have you do- how He would like you to support me.
FINANCIALLY
11 countries. 11 months. I need to raise $16,255 to go on this trip. That amount covers my food, lodging, travel expenses, and insurance for A YEAR. That amount is a huge chunk of change. When you consider what all that covers though, for how long, it suddenly doesn’t seem that great.

PRAYERFULLY
Like I said, I need some PRAYER WARRIORS. I need people intentionally praying for me when God is using me around the world- BUT- I need people intentionally praying for me NOW as well.
PHYSICALLY
I have some fundraisers scheduled. A couple of them, I need people to help me. I have some car washes, nights of serving, etc.
Having people I know and love JUST COME to the fundraisers is super encouraging and supportive.
Little notes of encouragement are supportive.
Comments on my blog are supportive.
Just sitting down and talking over a beverage of some sort… (coffee is most peoples choice) and talking about my trip and how God is stretching me even now is supportive.
