I am sitting by the river with my team mate Brandy today and we began to talk about different analogies that go along with water and God. The one that really spoke to my heart today was

1. you can go along with the current of the river and that would be God’s perfect will! You will have turns, rocks, spots that are hard to handle, things could get rough, and then there would be times you will just flow. I believe that even when you are seeking God and in His perfect will you will go through ups and downs. You will have times you are growing and times you are learning. Then there will be times everything is just perfect.

2. You could go across the river which would be God’s permissive will. You would get across pretty easy but once you got to the other side you would realize you missed out on some amazing things down stream or in your life and you would have hard times with the current fighting you trying to push you down stream! Which we said would be like God convicting you of not being right on track with things in His perfect will.

3. You could go up stream or against the current and that would be going against God’s will! You would have to fight constantly and things would be very difficult and you would get where you were going but it would be hard.

I really have been thinking a lot about this analogy and I can say with out a doubt I am where God wants me. Yes it will be hard at times, there will be ups and downs, and there will be days that just flow. I am excited I have found my place and I can say I am the will of God. I will mess up daily and fall short but I will get up and continue on. I will grow and learn through the trials and find joy in the victories. I encourage you to see where you are today. Are you going with the river, across the river, or against it?
