I'm happy to report, we made it to Rhode Island. Ever an annoying "early" riser (in my family I'm the sleepyhead, but around most of my friends I'm the first one up) I'm contendedly hanging out on the couch letting the rest of the crew sleep in. Figured this was as good a time as any to recap was an ADVENTUROUS jaunt, to say the least, from Hartsdale to Portsmouth!

Enjoy Friday's Photoblog.

My Friday morning (8:15 AM) wake-up-call – a doorbell rings and in roll these two beauties! Looking like a fun day already!

While Charlee was at work, I was busy going over my limited options for weekend wardrobe. In prep for World Race, I adopted a "minimalist packing approach," managing to get to NY with 6 tshirts, 1 dress, 1 pr of jeans, 1 pr of capris, 1 pr of shorts, 2 "nice" shirts, 3 pr of shoes, my laptop, my Kindle, 1 book, and a myriad of toiletry items all in my school-sized backpack! Impressed? I was! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Reunited and it feels so good! My grandparents got me this Study Bible for Christmas 2011, and as I set a goal to read the Bible in a year, I brought it with me on my last trip to NY (in March) I accidently left it  at Charlee's ๐Ÿ™ and obviously had to purchase another plane ticket just to get it back!

After pouring gallons of sweat, I finally managed to attach the Bike Rack to "Sally," Charlee's Pontiac Sunfire and we were off. It wasn't until we were in the car that I noticed my "battle scar." Road tread on jeans… ๐Ÿ™‚

Charlee was so stressed after her supervisory efforts in the bike rack installment that she required Starbucks therapy.

We soon determined that Sally's concept of air conditioning varied quite a bit from our desires, so we decided to see if the friendly folks at Valvoline could offer their aid. I couldn't help laughing at Charlee's responses to the questions below! (For the record, I would have been in the same boat!)

After an hour+ and the discovery of a "slow leak" (a what?) we were set back on the road.

And then we hit traffic…

Nearly there, we were both starving and in need of a restroom break. Wendy's to the rescue! Charlee stressed the whole way about the bikes on the back; I told her I took that as an insult to my engineering abilities. They made it just fine, FYI.

There at last! Lisa rewarded us with a "Say Yes to the Dress" marathon, some cantelope and a series of hilarity well into the night!

And when we finally decided to go to bed, Rocky opted to camp in the living room with us. Gotta love a good ole dog!

Well, as the blog comes to a close, the rest of the house is still snoozing. Expect pics of that on Saturday's edition!

Be Blessed,
Ashlee
