Disclaimer: This is one of those times where I know that, like it or not, I’m going to piss people off. For the record, I am okay with that. Either read with caution, or read with an open mind.
It seems that so many people venture on this radical mission trip that has become my normal life seeking to discover exactly WHO or WHAT Jesus/God are in their individual walks. And in this pressure cooker of a spiritual journey that I’m walking daily, discoveries happen almost constantly. I’ve been in church since I was 10 days old, and I’ve been a Christian for almost 12 years, but the past six months have brought me to a clearer understanding of God than anything I’ve known in my nearly 24 years. I’ll not dispute, God is different for everyone and we each relate to Him in a myriad of different ways. Who I know Him to be may be the complete opposite from who He is for you. That’s okay.
What has become, perhaps even more so, apparent for me over these past several months is WHO and WHAT Jesus/God are not. I’ve had some pretty intense gut checks regarding how closed minded I’ve been, how “boxed in” I’ve kept the Lord and how I’ve made my walk with Him more about religion than faith.
