Being at Casa De Sion has been an amazing experience.
They have a program for the mothers and children on Tuesday and Thursday where they have lunch together, give out formula and clothes. They also have a program for the children every Monday, Wednesday and Friday where they are taught and fed.
One thing that I have noticed about the children here is they are tough. They also don’t seem to wine or complain. They just get things done and make do with what they have.
The other day all the girls just started playing soccer. They didn’t care that they didn’t have cleats, they didn’t run inside to change out of their skirts. They just ran, played and had fun.
I just kept thinking that they are so grateful for what they have. They weren’t worried about if they’re shoes matched their belt. They didn’t complain about not having shin guards or even closed toed shoes for that matter, they just went for it. They were just grateful for the meal they were given and the company they were with.
I want to be more like those girls.
