1. Where were you again?
This month we were in Morogoro, Tanzania.

2. What was the name of the ministry?
We worked with Pastor Albenoz at a Pentecostal Church.
We also served at a primary school in a nearby village.

3. What did you learn?
Passion fruit Fanta is the best drink.
I got to stare at a map of the world every morning and realized that I’ve never heard of Uzbekistan.
That shoulders are more scandalous than boobs in this culture.

4. No really, what did you learn?
I learned that when you ask God to show up in the small things, He absolutely will. If you are having a hard time with the big scope of ministry, you can always focus on taking it day by day. Sometimes it just takes some refocusing and some hard prayers with the Lord and asking the Spirit for extra guidance.

There is also a lot of difference between the way we evangelize and the way Tanzanian people evangelize. It isn’t bad, it is just different.

5. How was the food? Best meal?
The pastor’s wife, Deborah, was able to cook for us this month and we had some good food. Again, lots of beans, rice. The food here is pretty much the same seven days a week.
We had these really good rolls for breakfast and were able to have eggs every once in a while. My favorite part was the fresh passion fruit and avocado juice they would make for us. So fresh.

6. What do you miss from home?
You know you’ve been gone a long time when you don’t crave foods from home anymore, you just crave good local food.

7. What would you like to say to the people (stalkers) back home?
Last month I asked for prayer for direction for plans when I return home, that would also be great.
Also, can some of you pretend to be excited to see me soon (:

7. What was the hardest part?
This was my favorite month in Africa. It was a great month overall. What was difficult was how pushy people were at the bus stations. The conductors would just grab us and yell at us to get on their bus. It was stressful getting yelled and touched and pulled at.

8. What was your favorite memory?
We got to go on a hike to waterfalls and it was great to have a day in nature.
One day when we were doing children’s ministry I was able to get some really great shots of the children. Keep in mind that these aren’t posed and typically there are about 10 kids swarming the camera.

9. Most dangerous thing you did?
We went to get on a local bus and there was a riot right outside. In fact, we never made it onto the bus because so many people were fighting and going crazy. I’ve never seen people act so uncivilized getting onto a bus. It was crazy.

10. Any "Firsts" this month?
I saw the biggest snail I have ever seen in my life.
I was so relaxed when we went to the waterfall that I was able to take a nap by the stream.
I got to see Rachel catch a bird in mid-air.
I killed a spider the size of my fist without screaming.

I witnessed to people using the Evang-a-cube?
I also got proposed to again this month. I was offered 50 cows.

11. What are you looking for God to do next month?
We our on our way to MALAWI AND IT IS OUR LAST MONTH!!
Pray that I finish strong.
Pray that God can show me new things.

Love,
ASH
