Hello Friends,

Thanks for all the love on the last blog post! If you haven’t read it click here so you’re not missing out (come on it took me an hour to type all that). So I wanted to give you all an update and set the pace for what is to come.

I will be updating this approximately once a week depending on internet access when I am gone. This and e-mail will be the best way to get a hold of me. I will be sharing what is happening with my team and what God is teaching me in my personal life. Though I will be gone a year, my hope is that you will feel like you haven’t missed out on what is happening in my life. Are you ready for some real, raw, reflective blog posts? I am inviting you to take the journey with me. I am inviting you to see what I see and feel what I feel.

Please join me in this journey.

The first country we will be serving in is Guatemala. We will be serving at Casa De Sion in Los Robles. Casa De Sion is an “at home orphanage” that provides safe houses for children.

Their mission is amazing and I was brought to tears the first time I read about it. I feel so privileged to be able to serve alongside of a non profit organization that has so much life changing impact on the community around them.

Their mission is to enhance the lives of Guatemala’s least fortunate children by nourishing their bodies as well as their minds with nutritional, educational and medical initiatives.  They also provide emergency relief to surrounding communities suffering from natural and man-made disasters.

Their vision is to move from community to community, as they gather support, in the poor Highlands of Central America administering their programs.  While creating a minimal amount of dependency, they want to help this next generation become healthier, wiser and more self-reliant.  They want the local community to become better able to care for themselves and their children.

Please visit their website here and also check out thier blog here

For all you young, hipster types please also follow thier twitter here.

More updates to come! Please continue to keep me in your prayers.
