That’s usually the reaction I get when I tell people I’m going to leave everything behind to live out of a backpack with a bunch of strangers for 11 months. “Wait! You’re doing WHAT?! Are you crazy?!“
I have to be honest, that’s my initial thought as I start
trying to wrap my head around what it is I signed up for.
Am I crazy?!
To put it bluntly — YES, I AM! (but not the way you’re all thinking!)
I AM crazy! Crazy in love with my Lord and Savior. Crazy excited for the opportunity to spread the love of Jesus around the world. Crazy blessed that God has chosen me to be a part of this incredible journey. Crazy ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to be changed in ways I can’t even fathom, and to come back after 11 months as a completely different person.
My heart for missions began a few years ago, when I went on a Passport trip with Adventures in Missions to Nicaragua. Going to Nicaragua completely changed my life. I experienced God and community like never before. I grew in ways I could never imagine. Since then, I have had the amazing opportunity to lead two Passport trips to Africa. The Lord has stretched me. He has called me from my comforts to places where I can only find comfort in Him. He has given me a heart for people and a desperation to make His name known in this world. And now, He has led me to the World Race! I am so excited to go on this amazing adventure with the Lover of my soul.
I’m sure you’re wondering exactly where it is I’ll be spending my 11 months.
