Hi everyone!
Im Arturo Marquez, i am 21 years old i currently live in olathe, kansas but am from LA, california. I love kansas and have grown up here for most of my life. At the moment i decided to take a break from college and have really just chased after jesus heart. my walk with the lord began in may of 2014 in a moment of my life where i was at my lowest a 19 year lost, angry, confused, and hopeless. but a friend and her family reached out to me invited me to a random barn where a women was preaching and the lord met me there and honeslty wrecked me and changed my life forever. A year ago i went on my first mission trip to the mountains of hounduras. And from there on the Lord started a fire in my heart and passion for missions and a love for his people. When i returned i really had a serving heart and began to serve locally diving deeper and getting involved. I was okay serving locally and never thought i would be called to missions internationally until this year after going back to honduras. interntional missions scared me cause i would have to leave my family. But i knew i had to obey and trust lord that my family will be okay and that he will provide for them while im gone.
I found out about the world race gap year through a friend. when she told me about it i began to start looking into it and learning what it was about. I began to pray and ask the lord if this was where he was calling me to. sure enough he ansered and i began to get sighns from people and the it seemed like the world race would come up everywhere i looked. and so here i am i have been accepted and will be serving and loving on the people of the Philipines, Nepal, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. While on this amzing adventure i am super excited to see what god will do in us and through us as we serve and love his people.
